Plants for the discerning gardener

Dear fellow gardener

Jan 2024

Happy New Gardening Year to all our customers.

Thank you for visiting our updated website. Gill and Gayle wish you a rewarding gardening year after the tough autumn wet weather of 2023, we are fortunate to be growing on light sandy soil but feel for gardeners on clay, fingers crossed for better growing conditions this year.

As you can see we are constantly adding new varieties that we recommend and hope that you will discover something interesting to add to your garden.

We are a traditional working nursery, where we propagate and grow the majority of our plants.
From your garden favourites to more unusual varieties we have a large selection in stock many of which can be seen growing naturally in our gardens.

Always looking to develop and respond to change we are reducing the quantity of peat in our compost whilst we continue to experiment with peat free alternatives. Visitors are welcome to explore our maturing show gardens where we are continuing to encourage more wildlife through our diverse water features and wild flower areas.

On our updated ‘Out and about’ page you can see some of the new plant fairs we will be attending in 2024 alongside our regular fixtures. We are always happy to bring plants to these fairs for those unable to visit the nursery.

Here at Morton Nursery we aim to create a friendly, relaxed atmosphere for new customers and our valued regular clients alike. Mollie, the dog, provides entertainment for dog lovers wishing to throw a ball. We pride ourselves on giving good, honest and helpful planting advice. We warmly welcome group visits from gardening clubs and other organisations; introductory talks and light refreshments can be arranged. Please enquire for more details.

We hope to see you soon

Gill and Gayle
